'Rock of Love' equals 'Rock of Suck'

Rock of Love 2 with Bret Michaels is one of my favorite shows and a weekly staple in my generous diet of trashy television. I'd never heard of Bret before his first dating show, the original Rock of Love, but I watched it religiously, rooting for my girl Jess all the way to the end, when Bret finally chose her as his "rock of love". Anyway it turned out Jess wasn't all that into Bret and so they came out with another season. This season, Rock of Love 2, has been awesome. Until the finale…

You see, the great thing about reality TV is pretending like you know the people well enough to make informed judgements about them. Dating shows are the best for that. For example, this season's best girls for judging were Kristy Jo (wacko), Aubry (weirdo), Catherine (Peggy Bundy) and Megan (the classic 'just here for tv').

The best girls for liking were Jessica (the sweet one with really great hair) and Daisy. Daisy is the best!

I love Daisy! Daisy has the best personality, she is cute and hot and sexy, and has great tattoos, and was really truly in love with Bret, no doubt about it. She is a musician, like Bret (apparantly he is a musician or something), and she's funny and like 5 feet tall, which is cute, if you ask me, because I am about 5 feet tall. But there was one other girl, what was her name? Ambre.

Oh yeah, don't forget Ambre. Ambre was one of my faves because she had a really positive attitude and was always smiling and for some reason clapping like a 5-year-old whenever she talked to Bret. I really liked Ambre. But I LOVED Daisy.

You know, my mom was right — she didn't like Ambre from the beginning. She didn't know why, she just didn't like her. But I did! I was like, "Mom!" And then… everything changed. Suddenly it was coming down to the wire and the two main contenders were Daisy (yea!) and Ambre (hm).

Still, I thought Ambre had no chance against Daisy, who is beautiful and funny and sweet and pretty. Plus Ambre is around Bret's age, so she's 37, and I don't really want to know how old Bret is. Ambre — soo boring and annoying. When it came down to her and Daisy, suddenly I could not stand Ambre.

Ambre called Daisy immature, yet Ambre called Daisy a bitch on several occasions and kept dropping "you're a stripper" on Daisy over and over again (uhh hello it's "dancer") and plus she said "Dude" like way too many times for somebody who is 37 talking to someone who is 25. She even told Daisy, "For such a pretty girl, you are the ugliest woman I have ever met." Wow that's harsh. Let me translate that for you: "You're hot and I'm not and this is the best thing I can come up with." Yuck! I hate Ambre!

So this whole time, I'm rooting for Daisy. It came down to the final episode. Ambre, recognizing that her strong suit is definitely not being sexy, said to Bret at dinner and I quote, "Just for the record, I'm not wearing any underwear." Okay I get the I'm-not-wearing-underwear thing at dinner but that kind of thing should be whispered into his ear … and come on, "just for the record" ? I mean that is like the least sexy way to bring it up. In fact, that's the kind of thing you don't want on the record.

Unfortunately, Bret's date with Daisy didn't go as well. For one thing, she went for a ride on the yacht. (One thing I've noticed about these dating shows is The Curse of The Yacht: on a VH1 dating show, when it gets down to the last episode, whoever goes on the yacht is the one eliminated. Something about that yacht. I don't know.) So Daisy, sweet, sexy, funny, charming, adorable Daisy, of course fell victim to The Curse of the Yacht. I should have known right away when Bret announced they'd be going on a yacht! But at the time, I just didn't want to believe it…

So the moment I'd been waiting for for weeks was finally here: Bret would choose his "rock of love" girl. It was Daisy and yucky Ambre standing there, and he said, "Blahblah I wanna find love blahblahblah." So he calls Daisy down and he just tells her basically "it's just not going to work" because "there's too much about your past that I can't figure out yet."

OK wait a second. Pause! I forgot to mention… Bret's main concern with Daisy was that she had skeletons in her closet, or as he put it "a walk-in garage of skeletons." She was trying little by little to explain some of this stuff to him but it was hard stuff to talk about. I mean when bad stuff happens to some people they just don't want to bust out and talk about it 24/7. So some bad stuff had happened to Daisy. Not like AMBRE yucky Ambre has a perfect life and no baggage other than being super boring. Anyway…

So Bret tells Daisy it's not going to work out and tells her "the tour ends here." I couldn't believe it! She was sobbing. I mean she'd gone on national television airing some of her not-so-clean laundry so that Bret would trust her and keep her around, and then… this? I'm so mad at Bret!

So then he's like "Ambre come here" and she starts clapping like a 5-year-old again. Meanwhile, Daisy is off to the side bawling her eyes out and saying, "If I knew coming here and falling in love was going to hurt this much then I never would have done it." Poor Daisy. I guess I can relate on the skeletons-in-the-closet, sketchy-past kind of thing. I would be devastated if someone I was in love with rejected me based on some dusty old skeletons. I was completely devastated that he didn't choose her. Stupid Ambre! Ambre sucks!

This totally ruined my day. The moment I'd been waiting for for weeks just turned out terribly. I'm not exaggerating — it really ruined my day. Well good thing it happened at 10:30 PM because I just went to sleep afterwards and didn't have to be at work pissed off. But at least I can always take out my frustrations via blog. Oh yeah and next week is the reunion special! You know I'll be watching that. (I hope stupid Ambre stubs her toe walking up the stage.)

Bret, you really disappointed me this season. If you picked Daisy I was going to get all my friends together and see "Poison" in concert at Deer Creek this summer. Now? I don't know, Bret. It's like I don't even know you anymore…

    Eh. I saw either choice.
I felt like Daisy was Ms. Right Now.
    Ambre was Ms. Right.

I thought he made the smart decision.

Ambre was real and was closer to his age. Daisy was a fake bitch that kept coming out with more shit about her past. It's like the bad stories never ended.. Daisy was really immature and had sex with Bret as soon as she had the chance. Yeah Daisy seemed like she really did love him, but Ambre was there for good. Bret made the right decision

It didn't work out with Bret and Ambre - she couldn't handle his rock and roll lifestyle - and they are coming out with Rock of Love 3 this upcoming year. Hah!
